Women’s Ministry

The heartbeat of our ministry is that every woman would become a fully devoted follower of the Lord Jesus Christ
Women’s Ministry The heartbeat of our ministry is that every woman would become a fully devoted follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. To that end we are seeking, with God’s help, to put on three different types of event during the year, with three aims in view.

  1. Closeness to God.

Nothing is more vital than our ongoing relationship with God. Through attending events such as the Irish Women’s Convention in October, we want to encourage one another to be grounded in God’s word, depend on him through prayer and consider what it means to be a godly 21st century woman, who is growing in her love for and devotion to God.

  1. Community with one another.

We were never meant to go it alone in the Christian life. God has blessed us here at Knock with a wonderful church family, but it takes time to develop relationships. We run a variety of fun, social events as an opportunity to get to know one another. Past events have included a visit to Eden pottery, cinema, Girls’ nights in, and a shopping trip to the Kildare outlet centre.

  1. Connecting with our non-Christian friends

God brings into our lives people who do not yet know him and we want to try to introduce them to the Christian gospel. Every year we run a Christmas evening at the beginning of December, with stalls, music, food and a short talk about Jesus. In the springtime we have a women’s breakfast, with a speaker sharing about how her Christian faith has impacted her life. We always end our year with a Christianity Explored course for women. Presbyterian Women (PW) encourages women to become Christians and to become Christ-like. As well as supporting mission at home and overseas, each group looks for ways to actively reach women in our own area for Christ. The fellowships look at a range of issues including love and unity, Christian living, spiritual maturity as well as local and global mission. Presbyterian Woman meets in the Bell Hall 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm: Contact the church office for details.
