Weekly Announcements – Sunday 7th January

Week commencing 8th January

Tues 9th
PW meets at 8.00pm in the Bell Hall. Tonight: William Logan, Belfast City Mission.

Wed 10th
Wednesday Walkers meet at Hanwood Industrial Park at 10.00am on 10th January to walk the Greenway towards Comber. Coffee at Crème.

“Making Disciples” – 1 – with Rick Hill at 8.00pm. (See last page of the Announcement sheet.)

Thurs 11th
Knock Tots recommence at 10.00am. in the Elliott Hall. All pre-school children, along with their parents/carers will be most welcome. Please come and join us for craft, stories, songs and lots of fun. For more information, call Elaine on (07565 936 176).

“Be-filled” Bible Study at 11.00am. Meet for coffee/tea and scones at 10.30am.

RFC meets at 7.00pm followed by Congregational Committee at 7.45pm.

Ladies Bowls recommences at 2.00pm.

If anyone has been attending for some time and is interested in becoming a Communicant Member of the congregation, please speak to one of the ministers before the end of the month. We hope to hold members’ classes beginning in February.

Irish Christian Men’s Convention – Fri 23rd Feb 7:30pm – an evening with Mike Reeves – in the Whitla Hall, Methodist College at 7.30pm. Sign-up sheets on the Welcome Desk.

The 2018 Flower List is in the Front Vestibule. If you would like to supply/arrange flowers please add your name and telephone number. Any queries please see Deirdre Hiscocks.

IMPORTANT: As there are 53 Sundays in 2017 you will notice there is a purple envelope in your WFO pack for today. As this is not numbered, would you please ensure that you write your WFO number on it otherwise it will not be possible to credit it to your givings.

All 2017 subscriptions – WFO, United Appeal, World Development etc. should be in Church Office today if they are to be recorded in this year’s contributions. Any monies received after that date will go into the 2018 accounts.

Organisation treasurers and secretaries are asked to please have their accounts and reports with the Treasurer and Clerk of Session, respectively, today at the latest.

Dr Mike Hughes in Potters Village in Kisoro has asked the team going out to Uganda in January, to bring with them shoes and clothes for children aged up to 3 years, but particularly for ages 6 – 18 months. Would you be willing to donate these? The items would need to be with the team by Sunday 7th January at the latest, as the team leaves on Friday 12th.

Presbyterian Herald: Subscribers are asked to pick up their copies from the Crush Hall. Distriibutors of Wider World are asked to pick up the latest edition from the Crush Hall.

SU Bible Reading Notes for 2018 are now available for collection in the Crush Hall. Subscriptions should be returned, in the envelope provided, and placed on the offering plate.

Intercessors Prayer Meeting at 11am in the Upper Room
The Craft Group will be holding their 1st meeting at 10am in the Bell Hall. Everyone who has an interest in any craft will be very welcome. Just bring along whatever you are working on at the moment. I hope to have a techinque to demonstrate for anyone who is interested. We plan to meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month. Hope to see you all there.
